How does CCFL work?

CCFL stands for Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp. A high-voltage electrical field starts a discharge inside a sealed glass tube. The discharge generates ultraviolet energy, which excites the phosphor coating to produce the lamp’s light output. These insect-control models use a UV lamp configuration for insect attraction.

Allow approximately 10 minutes after switching on for the lamp to reach its best operating brightness. Warm-up time can vary with ambient temperature.

The 100,000-hour rating is stated in Remaig’s 2026 product information. The 10,000-hour conventional-tube figure is a comparison reference; ratings vary by lamp type.
